2014-2019 Lexus IS & RC 6.5-inch Front Speaker Adapters

These are not advertised for 21- IS but I took a chance with these brackets and they fit flawlessly. I do recommend using a thicker foam tape than what’s provided with the kit to seal it to the door because the screw mounts do not sit flat on the door skin. There was a gap between the skin and adapter so I used thicker foam tape and sealed it up with sound deadener. Sundown Audio SA-65CS, 6.5” driver fits with room to spare inside the door for window. Used NVX silicone baffles to seal to the panel.

Researching the needed exact information for replacement speakers for Mark Levinson equipped 2017 Lexus IS 350 F sport AWD was a somewhat tough job. Front speakers are 3.5" ML coaxial crap and most suppliers note 4" speakers as replacements. I opted for coaxial Hertz CX100 for the left and right fronts and Hertz DCX100.3 for the center-channel front. Brackets must be removed as the Lexus has 2 bracket mounts and Hertz has 4 mounting brackets. Modifying the plastic dash lip towards the windshield is required on left and right locations to allow these speakers to sit flat. I single smaller high-end tweeter could be used in these locations with SGS adapters but you would lose a good deal of mid-range. The front doors have 7.1" dia. 5.3 Ohm Mark Levinson which is near impossible to match exactly with anything quality. The SGS 6.5" adapters work perfectly with my chosen Focal's. You can also separate the adapter and run the speaker wire adapter cables through a small slot that SGS provided. Plan for multiple hrs. to attach sound-deadening material properly. The rear doors can easily be handled by a readily available adapter for 6.5" speakers. I chose Focal PC 165 FE Flax EVO 6.5s for both the front and rear doors.
Now I wish SGS made an adapter to use a shallow 8" sub to replace the ML crap sub. No one lists a sub replacement for the 7.8" 6-ohm sub and the easiest way to replace it would be to carefully strip the plastic raised bracket from the existing sub to use it to mount an 8" shallow quality sub-replacement. I am dreading starting the sub-replacement project. Thank you SGS for the front door adapters!!!!

I'm sorry but these aint worth $130. Also kind of a PITA to drill into, I just gave up and used long screws to keep the speaker in between the bracket.

Perfect fit and great quality

Very high build quality! Perfect fitment. Took a little while to receive, but was not in a rush. Highly recommend these adapters as Lexus models tend to vary and these work perfectly. They even customized the tweeter adapter to accommodate my Focal's.

I was very pleased to find out that SGS actually custom made these mounts to fit the speakers I had purchased. They messaged me after the purchase to ask what speakers I was using, made mounts that fit the speakers perfectly. After I realized my audio upgrade was more work than I wanted to tackle I took it to a local Audio install shop and when I picked up my vehicle I asked how the adapters worked out.. even they said they were perfect! SGS was the only place I could find adapters that I knew were going to work for my Lexus, even though they may have been a little more pricey than another option that may or may not have fit, the service and quality were what came through on this one. I’ve heard the saying in the past, buy once, cry once, which with the quality and service that come with the product purchace here, no need to cry. Hats off to the people at SGS!!! Thanks!

Took me months of research to find someone who makes an adapter that fits my Lexus UX. On a whim I ordered these and they fit the FRONT doors perfectly. Highly recommend these.

They fit perfect and work just for my project very happy with the workmanship and quality exact fit.

Communication and craftsmanship is A+. Works perfectly with http://metraonline.com/part/IBSBF65 the baffle sits flush against the door panel. If you need specific sizes cut for different brand speakers just give them an email/call and they'll work it out for you. Depending on the mid used may need to trim the dash grill, speaker sat a little high. But once trimmed it was perfect.
